Thesys "Field Notes" provide insight into our recent conversations with educators who are trying to address specific needs through Blended Learning.
School Type: Private, Christian
Grade Levels: Preschool-High School
Why the school is exploring Blended Learning: The School Administration was disappointed with their previous online coursework provider because the courses were not UC-approved.
The school's specific need: The School Administration wished to customize certain areas of the curriculum to include biblical perspectives, religious values, and references to scriptures.
Thesys Solution: Our coursework is developed to meet Common Core standards and to be UC approvable. While most schools are satisfied with Thesys courses as is, we encourage teachers and schools to make customizations to our courses to best meet the needs of their students and school. To meet this particular school's need, we trained classroom teachers on how to modify course content to include the desired perspectives and references. Our Thesys Teacher Mentor continues to work 1:1 with classroom teachers to make modifications while maintaining core standards.
